Gringo Nordic

Gringo Nordic is a small coffee roastery in the neighbourhood of Sandarna in the western parts of Gothenburg. Here they work with specialty coffee from individual farms, plantations and cooperatives. You’ll find them at the street Varholmsgatan 12, where they have a coffee bar, roastery and shop with coffee for both espresso machines, coffee makers or hand brews. One Saturday a month they are also open for Saturday coffee with the opportunity to participate in free cuppings (coffee tastings).

da Matteo at Vallgatan

da Matteo

The cafe and roastery da Matteo has become a real Gothenburg icon, which in addition to two shops, where you can buy specialty coffee beans with you home, also has a total of four cafes in town. At the cafe’s premises on Magasinsgatan, all the beans are roasted, which are largely imported from Ethiopia, Costa Rica and Colombia – all countries known for their first-class coffee plantations. Here, in addition to good coffee of course, you can also count on good pizzas and buns.

Alkemisten

At the island of Hisingen, in the districts of Kvillebäcken and Lindholmen, you’ll find the charming coffee bar Alkemisten. Here, organic drip coffee and espresso are served with great care for both the craft and the beans. For the hungry, there is sandwiches, salads and coffee bread made from locally grown, and to a large extent, organic ingredients.

Viktors kaffe at Geijersgatan 7

Viktors kaffe

You can find Viktor’s coffee on Geijersgatan, a cross street to the main street Avenyn. Here, the coffee from Johan & Nyström and Per Nordby is the focus, but pastries by Sylvain Marron and lunches in collaboration with the restaurant Björk & Bambu are also served.

Morgon Coffee Roasters

Under the Kran 42 on Lindholmen, in Cityvarvet’s old premises, Morgon Coffee Roasters roasts coffee from some of the world’s best producers. On the last Saturday of the month, the roastery is usually open between 11 am to 15 pm for homemade fika and free coffee tasting. The tasting takes about 30 minutes and there the roaster goes through the range, tells about the producers and how they work at Morgon Coffee Roasters.

Kafferäven

Kafferäven is a small roastery in Gothenburg’s old butcher’s area that works with specialty coffee. The roastery started in 2013 with the goal of buying the best coffee they could directly from producers they know around the world. In connection with the roastery in Slakthuset, Gamlestaden, there is the roastery’s shop where you can both buy beans to bring with you and taste their coffee.

Bar Centro

At the coffee bar Bar Centro, which you’ll find on Kyrkogatan 31 next to the NK department store, you can count on a genuine Italian feel. The coffee bar does not roast its own beans, but if you fancy a really good Italian espresso, this is where you should go!
