Skanshof
This former bank premise has been transformed into a seafood restaurant with a New York flair. Now the guests can enjoy both a rooftop bar and a park-like terrace. If you want to combine the panoramic view of Gothenburg with an activity, there is both a rooftop pool and boules court on the terrace!
Mei Rose at Liseberg Grand Curiosa
The new hotel Liseberg Grand Curiosa has several different bars and restaurants. At the Mei Rose rooftop bar adventurous cocktails and barbecue dishes with Chinese flavours are served. On the spacious roof terrace you also get a completely new view of Gothenburg’s skyline and the amusement park Liseberg.
Cielo, Hotel Bellora
Named one of the top five rooftops in the world by hotels.com, Bellora’s rooftop Cielo (‘heaven’ in Italian) certainly lives up to its reputation. Cuddle up in one of the couch sections, or venture closer to the edge to enjoy spectacular views of the main boulevard Avenyn and beyond. Skansen Kronan, Sahlgrenska University Hospital and Masthuggskyrkan are some of the landmarks to look for.
Above at Scandic Göteborg Central
Another new hotel addition is Scandic Göteborg Central, right at the foot of the bridge Hisingsbron and a stone’s throw from Gothenburg’s central station. The rooftop bar Above is fourteen floors up with a wide view of the river Göta älv, the harbour and Gothenburg’s landmarks.
Hotel Pigalle
This hotel brings you back to a time of 19th century Parisian decadence, and the rooftop bar is no exception. Grab a carefully crafted summer cocktail from the bar and enjoy the buzzing atmosphere among the flowers on the terrace. And keep an eye out for events on Pigalle’s Facebook page, more often than not there are dj:s and various clubs up here.
Ruby Bar, Scandic Rubinen
Want to maximise the panorama? This hotel terrace stretches across two sides of the building, providing loads of sunny hours and city views in three directions. Ruby often do bar takeovers with various themes, and invite different dj:s to spice up the atmosphere. In town for Way Out West? Clarion Hotel The Pier
At Lindholmen, you will find the newly opened hotel, Clarion Hotel The Pier. Since the hotel opened its doors to its 11th floor and rooftop bar at the beginning of the summer, you can enjoy drinks with a stunning panoramic view that stretches all the way from Hisingsbron to Älvsborgsbron.
Clarion Collection Hotel Odin
At Clarion Collection Hotel Odin’s seventh floor you’ll find a rooftop bar that is the perfect summer hangout. Here you can spend a relaxing afternoon or evening in a laidback lounge atmosphere. The kitchen offers a selection of wine, beer and snacks.
Dorsia
Exclusive boutique hotel Dorsia has a terrace to match the hotel’s decadent style. Here you’ll find yourself surrounded by Mediterranean plants like citrus trees, bay leaf trees and olive trees. On a rainy day the cosy little rooms make a perfect escape.
Biergarten, Moreno Pizza
Moreno Pizza is located in a stunning building that used to be a cinema. If the weather is nice they open up their beer garden. The large rooftop terrace offers amazing views of the neighbourhood Majorna and the Göta älv river.
Radisson Blu Riverside Hotel
Take the elevator up to the 11th floor and get closer to the sky and the sun! On Radisson Blu Riverside’s roof terrace, Cuckoo on the Roof, you have a magical view of Gothenburg’s harbour, the river and the city. As long as the sun is shining, nice music, bubbles in the glass, summery cocktails and light snacks are offered in a unique urban environment. Cuckoo on the Roof opens at the end of May.
John Scott’s
Looking for a classic pub? We’ll double that and give you two options! Grab a pint and/or something to eat on one of John Scott’s cozy terraces, either at John Scott’s Pub on the main boulevard Avenyn or on Kyrkogatan. The bars’ opening hours can vary, but you are always allowed to bring orders from downstairs up to the roof.
Taket, OGBG
Hotel magnate’s Petter Stordalens Stenpiren edition comes, of course, with a rooftop boasting longer sun hours than most. Here you can enjoy views of the river Göta älv and the typical red cranes reminiscent of the time when Gothenburg was still a town of ships and dockyards. Henriksberg
In the borderland between Masthugget and Majorna, you’ll find the historic Henriksberg with its both indoor and regular outdoor terrace. It offers a fantastic view of the river, Eriksberg and Sjömanshustrun. From April 14, the Sunday club Sundance Club Gothenburg is also held here.
