The Nordic region’s largest cultural event

The Book Fair has been organised in Gothenburg since 1985 and is today the Nordic region’s largest cultural event. The 2023 Book Fair has a particular focus on audiobooks and podcasts, the city as a literary motif (for example, you can meet the City of Gothenburg on the fair!) and the multifaceted Jewish culture. On Friday evening, September 29, the exhibition venue transforms into Gothenburg Book Fair by night, where four stages offer stand-up comedy, live critiques, podcast discussions, interviews, music, and dance.

Restaurants and bars near the Swedish Exhibition and Congress Centre

There are plenty of restaurants, cafés and bars at the Swedish Exhibition and Congress Centre and the Gothia Towers hotel, which are directly adjacent to the fair: restaurant Heaven 23 with a view of the whole Gothenburg, New York-inspired Corner and the bistro West Coast where you can, among other things, get the classic shrimp sandwich.
