Geek Parade 2024

It’s time for the Geek Parade 2024! Inspired by International Geek Day & Towel Day, the Science Fiction Bookstore wants to celebrate all favorite fandoms and delightful hobbies with a grand nerd parade through central Gothenburg.

Bring out your best cosplay, favorite LARP costumes, and the coolest attire inspired by books, movies, video games, or straight from your imagination! The parade will be led by the Tongångarne and will march from Götaplatsen to the courtyard outside Gothenburg Cathedral. This event gathers approximately 500–1000 joyful geeks every year.

Will there be a costume competition during this year’s parade?

Certainly! As tradition dictates, there will be a costume competition in conjunction with the parade. The jury will select winners in various categories, and the awards ceremony will take place when the parade arrives at Domkyrkoplan.
